Job Description:
The HVACR Electrical and Controls Technician is responsible for participating in and leading job-based teams to fabricate and assemble our commercial Energy Recovery Ventilation (ERV) units, Dedicated Outdoor Air System (DOAS) units, and accessories according to current drawings and specifications. Performs unit electrical wiring, electrical-box wiring, and sensor layout and connection needed in our most complex units. Learns to perform tube-bending, brazing, evacuation, leak checking, refrigerant charging, testing, wiring, and assembling needed for compressor, condenser, and fan subassemblies to support full ERV and DOAS assembly. Assists, trains, and instructs Commercial Production Technicians to perform any and all wiring- and controls-related manufacturing processes. Supports ERV and DOAS installation and startup activities in the field via remote support and via travel if required. Adhering to all procedures relating to materials, quality, assembly and testing, as well as all general commercial and company procedures is essential.
Experience Required:
• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent • Electrical and/or HVACR controls technical degree preferred • Requires 3-5 years of relevant experience with HVACR and/or electrical and controls of air-handling equipment, chilled water systems, hot water systems, DX systems, exhaust systems and other HVAC equipment, other examples include: o performing maintenance on heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems. o troubleshooting and repairing HVACR components and parts. • Requires basic computer skills • Requires mathematical skills that require the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide and to read measurements in inches and feet • Must have the ability to read and understand engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and other manufacturing instructions. • Preferred experience with portable power tools and machine tools such as bandsaw, panel saw, chop saw and grinder
